THE FUTURE OF FILM IS FEMALE ANNOUNCES
2022 SPRING SHORT FILM FUND RECIPIENTS

The Future Of Film Is Female (The FOFIF), the NYC based non-profit dedicated to amplifiying the work of all women and non-binary filmmakers, announced its Spring 2022 Short Film Fund recipients today. Filmmaker Zenzele Ojore will receive $1,000 for pre-production on her short film STORM SEASON while Lauren Minnerath will receive post-production sound mix and editing courtesy of Head City, valued at $16,000 for HOME VIDEOS. Furthering its commitment to continuing its support of current FOFIF filmmakers, Maryam L’ange will receive $1000 for post-production services for her short RAZ while Karina Dandashi will receive post-production color corrections services from Nice Shoes, valued at $20,000, for COUSINS. Finally, in our inaugural partnership with FSUFILM, we’re granting The Future of Film Award to recent film school graduate Jaelyn Ellis.

“The projects selected for our 2022 Spring Film Fund represent the incredible talent of filmmakers currently working in short form content and the array of personal stories there are to be told,” said The FOFIF Founder Caryn Coleman. "I'm also very grateful to reshape our mission as The FOFIF grows to continue our support of current grant recipients during the duration of their career as well as welcome in a partnership with FSUFILM to foster new talent."

Founded in 2018, The FOFIF awards grants three times a year with partner companies, Heard City and Nice Shoes, to offer post-production grants. Previous Short Film Fund recipients include Raven Jackson (set to direct A24's ALL DIRT ROADS TASTE OF SALT) and Naima Ramos-Chapman (Writer, Director, Editor of HBO’s RANDOM ACTS OF FLYNESS and Writer, Producer for HBO’s BETTY).
