WORLD PREMEIRE

It could be 1986 or 2023, but one thing is clear: Molly (Beth Hoyt) and Dee (Shoniqua Shandai) are waiting for a bus that is not coming.

Sisters are women that share parents. Sisters are women that commit a monastic devotion to God. Sisters can be supportive architectural beams. A homologous pair of genetics are sisters. Sister cities, sister companies, sister wives. This Sisters is a short film about the mystery of human connection.

Specifically, it’s about a nun and a makeup artist - Molly and Dee - as they wait for a bus they both desperately need to arrive. The discovery that they are both wearing Chico State t-shirts - neither alums, both thrifted - is only the beginning of their connection.

Their new friendship inspires them to take the leaps they were too afraid to before, including a haircut, a dance, a podcast. For these two women, and for the viewer, these are unforgettable celebrations.
