Curtis tells the story of a young man struggling to make amends with the harsh family life he left behind, while ensuring the safety of his younger brother Jordan, still there.
Tannis Spencer is a writer and director based in Harlem, New York. Since beginning her career she has written, directed, and produced three short films. Her films - Two and Curtis have been admitted into several festivals nationwide including The Nitehawk Film Festival in Brooklyn, NY. Curtis was selected and featured in The Future of Filmmaking Is Female series at The Modern Museum of Art and streamed on The SundanceNow platform as part of the Best of Nitehawk Short series.
She is a digital-first native that sees and thinks big-picture storytelling and strategy. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from The American University in 2012.
