An urgent response to the moment: a flexible, collaborative, and rotating distribution plan by The Future of Film is Female featuring three independent films in independent cinemas April - June 2026. This project uses The FOFIF brand to support independent films by women and nonbinary filmmakers in a timely manner to ensure they reach audiences in cinemas instead of heading straight to streaming platforms or disappearing altogether.

After a life-altering accident, Ryan returns to his family’s homestead for a birthday luau, attempting to reconnect with old friends and relatives who now feel like strangers. As the pig roasts slowly in the imu pit and the atmosphere turns festive, buried tensions simmer beneath the surface as Ryan uncovers the secret of when things took a tragic turn.
