ABOUT THE FILM: When a brash stripper with nothing to lose is pushed to her limit, we see what she’s really made of. Set in the gritty underworld of Tulsa’s strip club, FASTER follows Kat, also known as Pussycat, who is offered a job for the night to make some quick cash. When her boss corners her in his office in a coercive deal of money in exchange for sexual compliance, Kat fights back in an act of rebellion. In a fit of rage, Kat steals his cash, car, and his girls.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: FASTER explores themes of female rage and vengeance born from sexual assault –emotions often silencing or paralyzing to the victim. The short is a deeply personal work that reflects the all-too-common female experience and the complex, often furious ways women reclaim their power in the aftermath of trauma due to the hands of men in power. Where more than 1 in 2 American Indian and Alaskan Native women have experienced sexual assault in their lifetime, the epidemic of violence against Native women has lasting impacts on communities. This harsh reality in Native communities makes this short film a deeply personal, and relevant work to Bendabout and its target audience.

ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Brittany Bendabout is a Cherokee and Otoe-Missouria filmmaker from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She began her filmmaking journey in the camera department as an assistant camera person, working on acclaimed projects such as RESERVATION DOGS, FANCY DANCE, and THE LOWDOWN. Through this hands-on experience, she developed visual sensibility and a strong kinship for Indigenous storytelling and its relevancy to her personal life. She recently received the 2026 WAVE (Women at the Very Edge) seed grant from Wavelength Productions, where her and four other women will receive resources and extensive mentorship from industry professionals. She is the co-founder of Women in Film Oklahoma, where mentorship and empowerment is brought to a network of women, non-binary, and two-spirit folk in the filmmaking community.
